Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) TAP – U.S. Department of Labor

Empowering Transitioning Service Members Through Employment Readiness Training

As a subcontractor supporting the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), OBAN Corporation delivers nationwide facilitation and operational support for the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) Transition Assistance Program (TAP). This mission-critical program equips Transitioning Service Members and their spouses with the tools, training, and resources needed to successfully transition from military to civilian employment.

OBAN provides end-to-end program support, including recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling facilitators to deliver TAP workshops across installations throughout the Continental United States (CONUS). Our facilitators conduct in-person and virtual sessions for three core courses: the 1-day Employment Fundamentals of Career Transition (EFCT), the 2-day Employment Workshop, and the 2-day Vocational Training Workshop.

We also lead program management tasks, coordinating with installation-based Designated Government Representatives (DGRs) on logistics, classroom resources, and participant feedback. OBAN ensures facilitators are trained within 14 days of hire and continuously updated as curriculum evolves.

In collaboration with DOL leadership and PM/COR teams, OBAN supports instructional design, curriculum updates, and hybrid training delivery, including the development of materials for Joint Knowledge Online (JKO). We also manage comprehensive data reporting, participant tracking, post-workshop analysis, and program improvement recommendations.

By managing both instructor delivery and operational coordination, OBAN ensures TAP remains consistent, compliant, and effective, helping thousands of transitioning service members each year confidently prepare for the civilian workforce.
